Breathwork Clinician Training Module 1 – Application of Ethics
August 10 - August 11
This two-day training explores facilitating breathwork in an ethical clinical framework. This is the second of 10 levels designed to prepare and qualify attendees to lead breathwork sessions in mental health, addiction, trauma, and eating disorder treatment settings.
• Understanding the foundational ethical principles of breathwork, as outlined by Breathwork for Recovery.
• Practicing holding space within a breathwork setting.
• Identifying and reviewing social and professional responsibilities of breathwork facilitation.
• Identifying and reviewing client rights in and out of a clinical setting.
• Understanding breathwork’s powerful effects and how to discuss it accurately.
• Discussing the importance of competency, integrity, respect with regard to breathwork practice.
• Building confidence and proficiency in facilitating breathwork on a 1×1 level (hands-on guidance will be provided).
Upon completion of Breathwork Clinician Training Level 1, attendees will have a foundational understanding of professional ethics as related to breathwork facilitation in a clinical setting.
Time commitment: 15 hours 9am-4:30pm (completed over the course of one weekend)
Each Module includes a one hour lunch and a 15 minute morning break each day.
Breathwork is a proven method of unearthing and resolving trauma, regulating the nervous system, and inspire a lasting sense of well-being. This somatic practice can help your clients overcome nervous system dysregulation and experience a sense of “instant gratification” relief, often after just one session.
This course is designed for mental health professionals, clinicians and students interested in deepening their practice by learning about the benefits of breathwork in working with trauma clients.
Course meets the qualifications for 12.5 continuing education credits for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Breathwork for Recovery is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs. Breathwork for Recovery maintains all responsibility for this program/course and its content. Course Completion certificates will be awarded within 14 days of the end of the course in exchange for a completed evaluation form and passing written examination. CAMFT approved CE provider #146365.
