Anne received their first certification and endorsement by the renowned San Francisco Sex Information program and continued their training via the American College of Sexologists International and Planned Parenthood Los Angeles’s School Based Sex Education Program, where they honed a special skill for working with adolescents. Anne is currently completing ANTE UP!’s justice-centered education certification and was recently certified through the renowned Kinsey Institute’s Human Sexuality Intensive. They also hold professional training in breathwork facilitation and natural dreamwork under the guidance of Kezia Vida. These two unique healing methods allow for deeper self-connection, emotional intelligence development, trauma resolution, and profound personal growth - and Anne often uses them in their one-on-one sessions. Anne has been working with, and writing about, sex and relationships in some form for more than 14 years, and they’ve loved every day of it. In addition to their private practice and public workshops, Anne is the founder of and lead educator at Everyone Deserves Sex Ed (EDSE), and leads treatment groups for clients recovering from substance use disorder, eating disorders, compulsive sexual behavior and other stigmatized illnesses. is an Afro-Taino, queer, non-binary, neurodivergent human in recovery from substance use issues. They grew up in a predominantly white middle class neighborhood in the most diverse urban area in the world of Queens, NY, USA. They founded Recovery for the Revolution, a movement where people see the interconnection between oppression, struggles with use, and liberation and seek to move towards liberation by dismantling systemic oppression and supporting people in healing from the roots of why many of us struggle.

They are the child of immigrants raised in poverty in the Dominican Republic, or the Kiskeya as the Tainos knew it. They are from an island nation that has been long under the spell of Spanish colonization; it is the ground zero of colonization in the Western Hemisphere, leading Dominicans collectively to deny our Black and Indigenous roots and perpetuate trauma among ourselves and our island neighbors in Haiti, a country with such deep pride in its Black roots and the first country of enslaved African people to overthrow their in the Western Hemisphere colonizers. They have both benefited from and survived some of the most elite, imperialist institutions in the country and the world, graduating from Yale University with a degree in sociology and working at a Big Four firm consulting for the federal government. Their experience has long been defined by self-suppression and survival, all while studying the dynamics produced of colonization, white supremacy, capitalism, ableism, and patriarchy on a systemic, interpersonal, and individual level.

Dr. Harman Kaur Arora she/her

joins our team as a guest lecturer with a rich background in both allopathic medicine as well as more traditional healing modalities. Born in India, brought up in New York City, Harman’s wide-eyed curiosity inspired a lifelong quest to understand the nature and diversity of the world. Always ready for adventure, she chose to pursue a career at the front line as an Emergency Medicine physician handling all types and acuities of illness and injury. Yearning to go deeper, she delved first into an academic fellowship in International Emergency Medicine, which then led her along the path of humanitarian aid with esteemed organizations including Doctors Without Borders, Doctors for Global Health and Physicians for Human Rights. Although these experiences were rewarding by a multitude of measures, Harman came to a jarring realization: the modern allopathic lens with which she had learned to view health and disease was proving quite narrow and unsustainable. Viscerally aware of the disparity and resulting marginalization within healthcare and beyond, she questioned whether her work was only serving to fuel the medical industrial complex. She began to gradually broaden her vantage point, initially through a profound personal practice of yoga, prāṇayām and meditation. Inspired by her own experience of healing and surrender, Harman set forth to explore different forms of medicine more comprehensively both in academic as well as local community settings. In 2018, she completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine where she became proficient in osteopathy, a practice of medicine rooted in the self healing capacity of the organism. Discovering a wealth of parallels to yogic philosophy, she chose to focus on the profound modality of Osteopathy in the Cranial Field with its emphasis on the primary respiratory mechanism, a more primordial rhythmic motion than the breath itself. In 2019, Harman immersed yet further into a classical apprenticeship in Traditional Āyurvedic Medicine, through which she has cultivated a great respect for the inherent wisdom of nature and its cycles. Today, in continued service to humanity, her offerings of consultation and mentorship weave together a diverse palette of possibilities towards balanced health and wellbeing. Harman considers it a great privilege to help nourish and irrigate the soil of those who likewise wish to continue on this journey, that we may be whole once more.

Full bio:

Then Hansel said to Gretel, “Let us drop these bread crumbs so that together we find our way home. Because losing our way would be the cruelest of things.” Most of us have lost our way at various points in our lives. I know I have. But the beauty is in the process of reconnection. We leave breadcrumbs to remind us of who we are. Our passions. Our values. Our goals. These breadcrumbs remind us of what we are fighting for. A healing journey is the process of uncovering and reconnecting to those breadcrumbs and continuing to drop more as we evolve and grow.

Who am I?

I am a dedicated advocate for those who feel they do not have a voice, that they are not empowered to heal, or cannot envision a hopeful future. From my extensive experience working with issues related to trauma, eating disorders, addiction, relationship dissatisfaction, and depression, I can help you chart a course out of the maze of dysfunction and onto the path of authentic connection to self and others. I believe that deeply understanding who we are in relationships moves us forward in the healing process. Most of our triumphs and struggles occur in the context of relationships, especially our relationship to ourselves. By gaining a greater connection to our own passions, fears, and desires we can create a new way of functioning in the world.

History & Longform Bio
Tarot and astrology were both introduced to me at a young age and weave their way through some of my most important memories. My mother had my chart drawn up not long after I was born and I grew up in a family with an animistic understanding of the world and a deep appreciation for nature. When I was eight, I had a babysitter who did dream analysis for a living and brought in aspects of numerology, tarot, and astrology into her work. That was when I first saw my birth chart.

I remember finding the card associated with my sun sign (Chariot) and my soul card (Hierophant) with her. One year for my birthday she gave me a small poster of the (Rider Waite) Hierophant, which I hung next to my bed for many years. One of my most vivid memories was doing a celtic cross spread where every card turned up a major arcana. This was just days before my parents announced to my siblings and I that they were separating and my mom would be moving out. When I was in high school, I took a six month astrology course from a local astrologer who had been trained by Noel Tyl. I still have all the course materials for that series of classes on my bookshelf and have been studying astrology ever since.

Personally, I walk in the world as queer, trans, genderqueer, fem, fat, white (primarily of English and Irish ancestry with some German, French Canadian, and Eastern European mixed in), professional middle class, polyamorous, kinky, neuroqueer, occultist, and witch. I strive to be anti-oppressive and in right relationship with the world. My pronouns are they/them/theirs.

As a student and practitioner of magic and witchcraft for over twenty years, I have a love of bringing the sacred and ritual into all aspects of my life and work. I am currently studying the Anderson Feri tradition of witchcraft and serve as Herald for the Seattle temple of the Fellowship of the Phoenix, a queer hermetic neopagan tradition. In addition, I am an Adept of the Open Source Order of the Golden Dawn, a practical and erotic Alchemist, and have been studying witchcraft since my early teenage years. Since 2005, I have been a devotee of The Red Goddess: Babalon. I have been working with her within a queer sex magic framework dedicated to personal growth, embodiment, eroticism, sacred kink, and much more.

I have dedicated my life, both personally and professionally, to practicing sacred sexual healing, encouraging personal spiritual and psychological growth in myself and others, helping to foster the expansion of human consciousness, and furthering the healing of the earth.

BEATRICE

has one eyeball and razor-sharp claws that she uses with abandon. In a constant state of inner conflict, she can not decide between running for her life or sticking around for headbutts and prefers to peer at people creepily from around the corner. She is proficient in unresolved PTSD and useless at commitment.

GEORGE

is our resident "trash cat" with a broken zigzag tail, jagged tongue, and an overbite. Originally from the streets of L.A., he happily considers most organic substances to be edible and will lick your feet at will. We recommend wearing socks year round. He is proficient in being everyone's favorite and useless at leaving your toes alone. (We're serious about the socks thing.)

HARRIET

is our take-no-shit Matriarch and has been on staff for 16 years. She has four teeth, prefers to sit on your legs like a koala, and enjoys licking ice cream lids clean at the end of a hard day.

She is proficient in flower-eating (and flower-barfing) and useless in Microsoft Excel.

LESTER

is our newest recruit and is eerily muscular for a housecat. He is cross-eyed with massive feet, which our team prefers to call "murder mitts" for accuracy and transparency.

He is proficient in vocal communication and food consumption, but will 100% not ask before eating that yogurt he found in the shared fridge.

LUCI

(short for Lucifer) is our unofficial HR manager and has the softest fur you've ever felt. She won't cuddle but will sit next to you if you're sad. (Yes, she thinks she's better than you, why do you ask?)

She is proficient in conflict management and resolution, but useless at receiving bribes, so don't bother.
