I feel that the recognition of one’s lineage is an important part of whatever journey you’re on, whether it be spiritual, professional, or physical. We don’t heal and grow in a vacuum and acknowledging where you’ve learned, what you’ve learned, and who you've learned from is an important ethical consideration, and an important part of being in right relationship with yourselves and others.

I have listed the people and places that I've learned from throughout the site, and you may notice an asterisk next to some. This asterisk is meant to signify that I do not endorse this person or their work.

My former mentor encouraged me to create my own training program that was in line with my clinical and ethical focus. I worked on creating it for over six years while working under him, and I thank him for his blessing and nudges to do so. I would also like to thank Breathwork for the People for their labor and shedding light on the many still unaddressed issues within my former mentor's community. It was after seeing that these issues would not be corrected that I chose to leave and finish the creation of my training, which ultimately became the Breathwork Clinician Certification which began September 25, 2022.

Our training draws from all that we’ve learned under my former mentor but contains none of the material, discussion points, activities, or takeaways from his training series. I'm sharing this with you for several reasons:

 1.     We have seen multiple people calling themselves breathwork healers launching their own training programs that DO contain the material, takeaways, and even some of the promotional language from my former mentor's training series. It is unethical to take material from someone else and call it your own. That is theft. In the efforts of transparency, we want to share our educational and mentorship lineage in order to clearly show that our content is original and unique to Breathwork for Recovery.

2.    We also want to make sure it is clear that while we received years of training and mentorship under him, we do not teach or endorse any of my former mentor's training materials, as it lacks training modules in trauma, anti-racism, privilege and power, consent and boundaries, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and other topics that we believe to be essential parts of the training process.

We maintain a commitment to authenticity and transparency, and we are happy to respond to questions regarding this lineage and/or our intention behind the Breathwork Clinician Certification. You can send those questions to info@breathworkforrecovery.com.

As we’ve stated elsewhere. The true lineage of this particular technique is unknown, but we are working with to uncover its origins.

We hope to continue our healing journey, as well as augment yours. It’s impossible to do so ethically without acknowledging our journey and those who’ve helped along the way. It’s far more complicated than I would like, but love is a nuanced thing, not something that can be wrapped up in a single paragraph.

Thank you for trusting us with your healing and educational journey!
