The Recovery Circle is the first national weekly breathwork-based support group led by trained and certified breathwork practitioners endorsed by Breathwork for Recovery. These are trained professionals that have dedicated themselves to the treatment of trauma, substance use disorders, mental illness, and eating disorders and have undergone a rigorous training and vetting process. Clients can breathe with confidence knowing that those leading The Recovery Circles are at the top of their field.

These support groups are an hour in length and open to those seeking recovery from substance use disorders, trauma, mental illness, and eating disorders, as well as those directly impacted, including family and friends of recovery-identified people. They are donation-based and free for those who need it.

Please note that while The Recovery Circle values confidentiality, it is NOT anonymous, nor is it based on traditional 12-step ideologies or programs. Nathaniel and Breathwork for Recovery believe that advocacy is more powerful than anonymity and that by championing recovery in this way, the crisis of trauma can no longer remain hidden in the shadows with silence and shame. Our allies and members are encouraged to be as vocal as possible about their recovery, as sharing and communicating candidly about struggles and successes can help encourage others to do the same. Think of The Recovery Circle as a supplement or alternative to traditional recovery support systems that can help reframe the way the public thinks about (and judges) people in recovery.

One of our primary discussions revolves around shame and the cycles of recidivism due in part to the impact of stigma toward the person with a substance use disorder. We can recover, and a big part of that is telling stories of our success. Bringing the topic of recovery to the forefront of people’s minds and combating the criminalization and judgment around addiction sufferers. This is why we’re not anonymous.

The Recovery Circle is open to anyone who identifies as being in recovery.
